23oct2017 Sunday-Sermon Monday-Sequel

If I had a SUNDAY SERMON do-over….

TITLE: FOUR TWO-MINUTE SERMONS IN 520 BC THAT CHANGED THE WORLD.

TEXT: Haggai 1-2

THEME: The work on the temple-rebuild project needed to resume and the temple in Jerusalem completed. It is important because one day the temple in Jerusalem will become the center of worship for the entire world and the place from which the Davidic King will rule over the Gentile kingdoms of the world.

TIP: We need more two-minute sermons in churches today. It seems to have a biblical precedence according to Haggai 😉

SERMON #1 (Haggai 1:1-15)

The LORD delivers the message through Haggai in the second year of king Darius, in the sixth month, on the first day of the month to Zerubbabel and Joshua about the consequences of apathy in the LORD’s work of rebuilding the temple. GET-HER-DONE!

SERMON #2 (Haggai 2:1-9)

The LORD delivers the message through Haggai in the second year of king Darius, in the seventh month, on the twenty-first day of the month to Zerubbabel and Joshua and all the remnant of the people (returnees). The old-timers remember the good-ole-days and grumble about the be-it-now days. The LORD promises better days ahead. WHOO-HOO!

SERMON #3 (Haggai 2:10-19)

The LORD delivers the message through Haggai in the second year of king Darius, in the ninth month, on the twenty-fourth day of the month to the priests. A decision to do evil have not-so-good consequences. Do right and good will follow, eventually. PLAY-NOW-PAY-THE PIPER-LATER 🙁

SERMON #4 (Haggai 2:10-19)

The LORD delivers the message through Haggai in the second year of king Darius, in the ninth month, on the twenty-fourth day of the month to Zerubbabel. The temple and the king of Jerusalem is the future for all humankind. SHAKE-AND-BAKE-BABY!
