HIS PURPOSES OUR PRIORITY
The Lord is pleased with His people and glorified in their lives when the plans and purposes of God become the priority of God’s people, not-with-standing the pressing needs of food, drink, clothing, housing, employment, and/or recreation.
Like the Jews of the Babylonian return, we become disheartened and discouraged in our lives for the Lord. The work is tedious, the progress slow, the problems overwhelming, the encouragements too few. However, we know that our work serves a purpose in the plan of God and carries with it the promise of God’s care and true heart contentment. Whereas, merely living for our own needs and desires is frivolous and empty and may even bring God’s discipline to our lives.
